私たちのコラボレーションは、フランスと日本の二つの文化のバランスをとり、お互い違ったノウハウや素材を用いて、独創的なアイデアを生み出しています。私たちの出会いによって、既存概念を超えて、お互いにインスピレーションを与え合いながら、ユニークな作品を生み出しました。私たちの作品であるモビールは両者のノウハウと文化のバランスを完璧に表現しています。
"Complementary to each other's materials and know-how". The foundation of our collaboration was to come up with a unique idea by finding a balance between our two cultures and combining our different know-hows and materials. Our encounter enabled us to create a unique artwork, while thinking outside the box and inspiring each other. Our work, the "mobile"is the perfect expression of the balance between our techniques and culture.

Artisans
Karl Mazlo
芸術家の家系に生まれ育ち，伝統的な工芸に強い興味を持ち，ジュエリーの道へ進む。京都のヴィラ九条山，東京のトーキョーワンダーサイトでレジデンスを経て，日仏の工芸作家交流にも取り組んでいる。
Coming from a family of artists, Karl Mazlo is passionate very early for the crafts. He graduated from Ecole Boulle in Jewel and Jewel Art. He trained with great jewelers where he acquired a multitude of traditional techniques.
Karl sculpts unique pieces where he combines the abstract and the figurative to make room for the imagination. These precious miniatures, which he shapes entirely by hand, offer a journey into the heart of matter.
In parallel, he designs tailor-made jewelery for individuals offering surprising combinations of metals and textures transcribing the history and sensitivity of the person.
Winner of the French Institute program, he stayed at Villa Kujoyama in 2016. When he returned from Japan, he was selected by the Banque Populaire Foundation in the crafts category in 2017.
野村 守Mamoru Nomura
1910年創業、京都で唯一、螺鈿・京漆器の製造卸販売を営む「嵯峨螺鈿･野村」の代表。「輝きと薄さを追求したこだわりの技術力」という理念のもと、日々制作を続ける。0.1ミリ以下の世界を何度も何度も塗り重ね、細やかな工程を丁寧に積み上げることで耐久性が生まれ、いつまでも変わらない美しい状態で、お客様の手元に残る商品を制作することに注力している。
Since 1910, Sagaraden Nomura is proud to be the one and only workshop in Kyoto that produces and sells “raden” (traditional technique of seashell inlay) and Kyoto-style lacquerwork. They continue to produce these items daily based on their philosophy of “commitment to the pursuit of luminosity and thinness of seashell.” Ultra-thin layers of 0.1 mm or less are superimposed over and over again in an elaborate process resulting in maximum durability and beauty that will endure over the ages.

「Savoir-faire des Takumi」は、京都市・パリ市の職人やアーティストたちがお互いに交流し、それぞれの文化や技術からインスピレーションを受けながら、世界のアート市場に向けた、新しい作品の創作等をサポートするプロジェクトです。
"Savoir-faire des Takumi" is a collaborative project to support artists and artisans from Kyoto and Paris, where they can interact and create new works geared towards the global art market while gaining inspiration through each other's culture and thechniques.
